class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>Divine Liturgy<\/strong>&nbsp;is the heart of Orthodox Christian worship \u2014 the central act of the Church&#8217;s life, in which heaven and earth are joined and the faithful receive the Body and Blood of Christ in Holy Communion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At our parish, the Divine Liturgy is celebrated every&nbsp;<strong>Sunday morning<\/strong>, combining the traditions of the Byzantine rite with the warmth of our Romanian heritage. Services are conducted in both&nbsp;<strong>Romanian and English<\/strong>, so that every member of our community \u2014 whether born in Romania or raised here in Malta \u2014 may fully participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We celebrate the&nbsp;<strong>Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom<\/strong>&nbsp;throughout most of the year, and the&nbsp;<strong>Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great<\/strong>&nbsp;on select feasts and Sundays of Great Lent, according to the Orthodox liturgical calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First-time visitors are always welcome. George for the most up-to-date schedule, including any changes during Great Lent, Holy Week, and the major feasts of the liturgical year.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"confession\">Confession<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Holy Mystery of&nbsp;<strong>Confession<\/strong>&nbsp;(also called Repentance or Reconciliation) is one of the seven Holy Mysteries of the Orthodox Church \u2014 a moment of healing, forgiveness, and restoration of the soul&#8217;s relationship with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Confession is available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Before Sunday Divine Liturgy<\/strong>, during Orthros, by arrangement with Fr. George<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>By private appointment<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 parishioners are warmly encouraged to approach Fr. Our parish offers the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"memorial-services-parastas\">\ud83d\udd6f Memorial Services (Parastas)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Church prays for the faithful departed at every Divine Liturgy, but special&nbsp;<strong>Parastas<\/strong>&nbsp;(Memorial Services) are offered for individuals on specific commemorations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>3rd day, 9th day, 40th day<\/strong>&nbsp;after repose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>6-month and 1-year anniversaries<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Saturdays of Souls<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 special Saturdays throughout the year dedicated to prayer for all the departed, particularly during Great Lent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To request a memorial service, please contact Fr. George in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"house-blessings-sfinirea-casei\">\ud83c\udfe0 House Blessings (Sfin\u021birea Casei)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The blessing of a home is a beautiful Orthodox tradition, typically performed at&nbsp;<strong>Theophany (January 6th)<\/strong>&nbsp;or at any time a family moves into a new home or wishes to rededicate their household to God. Fr. George is available to visit your home for this service \u2014 please contact the parish to arrange a date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"holy-matrimony\">\ud83d\udc92 Holy Matrimony<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mystery of Holy Matrimony joins a man and woman in a sacred bond blessed by the Church. Couples wishing to be married in the Orthodox tradition are asked to contact Fr. George&nbsp;<strong>well in advance<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 at least several months before the desired date \u2014 to allow for the necessary preparation, documentation, and pastoral meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"holy-baptism--chrismation\">\ud83d\udd4a Holy Baptism &amp; Chrismation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baptism is the door into the life of the Church \u2014 the Mystery by which a person is born again in water and the Spirit and becomes a member of the Body of Christ. Both infants and adult converts may be received into the Church through&nbsp;<strong>Baptism and Chrismation<\/strong>. Please reach out to Fr. George to discuss preparation and scheduling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"holy-unction-sfntul-maslu\">\u271d\ufe0f Holy Unction (Sf\u00e2ntul Maslu)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mystery of Holy Unction is offered for the healing of body and soul \u2014 for the sick, the elderly, and for any of the faithful who seek God&#8217;s grace in times of suffering. It is traditionally celebrated communally during&nbsp;<strong>Holy Week<\/strong>, but may also be administered privately. Please contact Fr. George for arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"feast-day-celebrations\">\u26ea Feast Day Celebrations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our&nbsp;<strong>parish feast day<\/strong>&nbsp;is the&nbsp;<strong>Birth of Saint John the Baptist \u2014 June 23<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 celebrated each year with a solemn Divine Liturgy followed by a joyful communal gathering.
